چکیده

Urban development and coal extraction have caused conflicts regarding production, living, ecological lands in the Yellow River basin. Here, a coupled genetic algorithm–patch generating land use simulation InVEST model was constructed to optimize use/land cover (LULC) simulate carbon storage changes. This study shows that LULC changed dramatically from 2010 2020 an area accounts for 31.96% of Inappropriate conversion encroachment reduced by 2.92 × 106 t, destroying stability ecosystem. The cities has encroached on cultivated land, which may affected region’s food security. Following optimization, are gradually being restored, transition between different tends be orderly, resulting increase 24.84 t storage. relationship high intensity woodland, grassland, is crucial ensuring regional balance. For basin, necessary environmental protection measures key achieving high-quality economic development. can provide guidance decision-makers formulating ecosystem restoration plans.

Erosion-induced massive organic carbon burial and carbon emission in the Yellow River basin, China

Soil erosion and terrestrial deposition of soil organic carbon (SOC) can potentially play a significant role in global carbon cycling. Assessing the redistribution of SOC during erosion and subsequent transport and burial is of critical importance. Using hydrological records of soil erosion and sediment load, and compiled organic carbon (OC) data, estimates of the eroded soils and OC induced by...

Analysis of land use dynamics and landscape pattern change in the Huai river basin, China

This study presented the analyses of temporal and spatial change of land use dynamics and landscape pattern in the Huai river basin during the period 1986-2005 by using the land use dynamic degree model, the land use centroids and the landscape metrics; and discussed the driving forces of land use change over the period employed the gray relational analysis method. The main results showed that:...

Vegetation Carbon Storage, Spatial Patterns and Response to Altitude in Lancang River Basin, Southwest China

Vegetation plays a very important role of carbon (C) sinks in the global C cycle. With its complex terrain and diverse vegetation types, the Lancang River Basin (LRB) of southwest China has huge C storage capacity. Therefore, understanding the spatial variations and controlling mechanisms of vegetation C storage is important to understand the regional C cycle. In this study, data from a forest ...

Landscape Ecological Risk Responses to Land Use Change in the Luanhe River Basin, China

Land use change has large effects on natural ecosystems, which is considered to be the main factor in eco-environment change. We analyzed the future characters of land use change by the CLUE-S model and explored landscape ecological risk responses to land use change by the landscape ecological risk index method. Using the Luanhe River Basin as a case study, we simulated future land use change f...

A River Basin over the Course of Time: Multi-Temporal Analyses of Land Surface Dynamics in the Yellow River Basin (China) Based on Medium Resolution Remote Sensing Data

The Yellow River Basin is one of China’s most densely-populated, fastest growing and most dynamic regions, with abundant natural resources and intense agricultural production. Major land policies have recently resulted in remarkable landscape modifications throughout the basin. The availability of precise regional land cover change information is crucial to better understand the prevailing dyna...
